Teton Village Association seeks a Maintenance Worker to perform semi-skilled landscaping, construction, maintenance, and repair tasks related to Teton Village Association facilities and buildings, including parking lots and the Village Commons.

Park Maintenance Worker I is the trainee in the series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents perform routine grounds and building maintenance, gardening, clean-up and unskilled manual work and learn to operate equipment such as tractors, mowers, and to perform semi-skilled work in varying craft areas. Incumbents are expected to promote to the next level of Parks Maintenance Worker II after they have demonstrated satisfactory performance and have reached the required level of proficiency.

Typical Tasks: Prepares soil for planting and plants, fertilizes, trims and prunes shrubs, trees, lawns and flowers; applies pesticides; cleans and maintains park structures including restrooms, picnic areas, stoves, fire rings, playground equipment, ponds, and recreation areas; washes windows in park buildings; collects and hauls trash and garbage; clears weeds and brush; digs trenches; mows, rakes and edges lawns; cleans oils and sharpens clippers, mowers and other equipment; cuts and threads pipe; paints or stains structures, benches, tables, signs, trash cans, barricades and fences; cleans up work areas; builds forms and pours concrete; replaces broken windows; lays pipe, installs sprinkler heads and timers; installs playground equipment; services and maintains water and filtering pumps; constructs and repairs rock walls and barriers; performs rough carpentry; operates chain saws, brush and stump chippers, trucks and other power and hand tools; operates light equipment such as tractors, riding mowers, forklifts, and snow removal equipment; installs and makes major repairs to sprinkler, irrigation and water systems using various type materials, sprinkler heads and time clocks; performs construction, maintenance and repair work on park structures and equipment using skills in the crafts of carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, small equipment repair and welding; works from simple plans and blueprints; performs minor repairs to power and hand tools and vehicles; as a crew leader on a specific assignment, assigns and coordinates the work of others; and trains unskilled and temporary employees in the procedures of the work.

Applicants should be capable of performing manual labor and possess knowledge or the proper use of hand and power tools and basic grounds maintenance, and/or knowledge of the techniques and tools used in one or more of these categories:  carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, or welding.
