Winter 2019-20 Teton Village Parking Information

Teton Village, WY – Teton Village Association Improvement & Service District (TVA) makes it easy to get to Teton Village in fewer vehicles to reduce traffic on Highway 390. Keeping the Village Road two lanes is good for wildlife, good for our neighbors and lightens our environmental footprint. We’ve made some changes so it’s easier than ever to leave your car at Stilson for the upcoming 2019-2020 winter season, including more frequent free Stilson Express shuttles every 15-minutes between 7:45– 9:30 AM.  TVA is also helping fund Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s construction of 242 additional parking spaces at the Stilson transit center and working with JHMR to improve communications regarding parking availability in Teton Village.

In order to encourage employees and skiers to ride the bus to Teton Village, TVA is required to charge for winter parking at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village as part of our transportation demand management program. In keeping with TVA’s goals of reducing traffic, all Teton Village employers purchase START Bus passes for their employees, who are not to park in the Village. Paid parking in all Village lots and the expansion of START Bus service to Teton Village in the winter have kept average peak hour traffic volumes stable since 2000, while the average daily skier numbers have increased.

With expanded free parking in Stilson as well as increased frequency of Stilson Express shuttle service building skier and rider incentives to park cars in the Stilson lot, winter parking rates will be increased for those choosing to drive to Teton Village with fewer than three passengers. Carpools of three or more will continue to park for free in the Ranch parking lot. Paid parking in the Ranch lot will cost $15 daily, and $30 daily in the Village, Cody and Crystal Springs parking lots. Peak parking pricing will be in place from December 26 to 31, 2019 and on weekends until March 15, 2020. Season parking passes will be offered with and without blackout days; further details are available on TVA’s website, tetonvillagewy.org, where passes will be available for purchase beginning October 1, 2019.

The money collected from paid parking in Teton Village supports efforts to reduce cars on our roads, including parking management, the Stilson transit center, data monitoring, and fare free shuttles to, from and within Teton Village. In striving to achieve Teton County’s vision to preserve and protect the surrounding ecosystem, Teton Village is proud of our work to reduce traffic. As a result of less cars, there are fewer wildlife-vehicle collisions, lower carbon emissions, and less vehicle congestion, which helps add up to a higher quality of life overall for our Teton County community.
