Connecting to District Facilities

The use of the District’s water and sewer systems is mandatory for all domestic potable water and wastewater within the boundaries of the District. The use of a private septic system, cesspool, privy, leach field, or similar is prohibited except for the grandfathered septic systems listed in Appendix A of the Rules and Regulations of the Teton Village Water & Sewer District.

A Connection Permit is required from the District before starting any of the following activities that may impact, directly or indirectly, the water and sewer systems in any manner: any new construction, any remodel or renovation, and change of use for a building or facility already connected to the water and sewer systems, or any miscellaneous activity that includes connecting to, uncovering, opening, altering, extending, or otherwise disturbing any mainline or service line or appurtenance thereof. The Connection Application is available from the District Office. The Connection Application must be approved by the Board of Directors and all corresponding fees paid before construction begins.

All water delivered to any user by the water system must be measured by a District-approved water meter, however, any water used solely for fire suppression may bypass the meter. All water meters to be connected to the water system must be purchased from the District. The user must submit a Water Meter Purchase Agreement, which is available from the District Office.

To find out more details regarding connection to the Water & Sewer systems, please read Article III of the Rules & Regulations. If there are any questions, please call the District Office at 307.733.5457.

All work must be done in accordance with the Teton Village Water & Sewer District Rules & Regulations.

About the W&S Connection Application

A Connection Application should be completed to reflect the building’s plumbing fixture units (FUs) and either the equivalent residential units (ERUs) or the average peak occupancy (APO) at the end of the project.

Remodel projects require a second completed application, which reflects the counts prior to the remodel so the District can reflect changes from previously authorized FUs, ERUs, or APOs against the completed project.

The Connection Application must be approved by the Board of Directors and all corresponding fees paid before any connection can be made. An adjustment to an approved Connection Application may be made at the completion of a project to account for changes during construction and may result in an adjustment (+/-) to the initial connection fee.
